In Mizoram Woman Held With Drugs Worth Over Rs 10 Crore

In another operation, the Mizoram police seized more than 5 kg of banned drugs worth Rs 10 crore in Aizawl district on Monday.

A woman was arrested in connection with the possession.

Acting on specific information, a team of Aizawl District Special Branch (DSB) seized 5.204 kg of crystal methamphetamine from the possession of a woman.
The arrested woman has been identified as Maria Lalrotluangi (42). The drugs were seized during a raid at a relative’s house in Laipuitlang area of ​​Aizawl.

The police have also registered a case under the NDPS Act for further investigation into the forward and backward connection.
Recently, Assam Rifles troops recovered psychotropic pills and illegal areca nuts with an estimated value of Rs 7.66 crore in two separate operations and arrested a person in Mizoram.

Later, the consignment of pills was handed over to Special Narcotics Police Station CID (Crime), Aizawl and Areca Nut Customs Department for further legal action.
