
In Meghalaya pre-poll violence 31 supporters of NPP, TMC arrested
Shillong: No less than 31 allies of the National People’s Party and the resistance TMC were captured in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district for their supposed contribution in pre-poll brutality recently, police said on Thursday.
A cop said the captured men were “part of a gang” that caused a commotion in Charbatapara town of 46 Phulbari gathering voting public on Tuesday night.
Races to the 60-part Gathering will be hung on February 27, including of decisions on Walk 2.
“We have captured 31 individuals – 16 TMC allies and 15 NPP laborers,” SP Vivekanand Singh told PTI.
As per Chief Electoral Officer F R Kharkongor, 747 surveying corners have been recognized as “risky” and 399 as “basic”.
Kharkongor further said that 119 companies of central forces will be sent for the assembly elections.
