Imphal: Two persons were arrested by the security forces in Chandel district on Wednesday with a huge quantity of banned items.
Acting on specific information about the movement of contraband, troops of the Assam Rifles’ Sajjik Tampak Battalion launched a search at Tuingam Dung Nala near Lebanon village in the hill district.
During the search and search operation, 2.5 kg of heroin and 4 kg of opium were recovered from the possession of the two persons. The seized items are estimated to have an international market value of Rs 5,02,80,000.
The two men were arrested and later handed over to Chakpikarong Police Station along with the seized items for further investigation.In Manipur’s Chandel district 2 held with drugs worth of Rs. 5 Crore
