In Manipur Five KCP (PWG) freedom fighters lay down arms

Manipur: Five fredoom fighters of KCP (PWG) in Manipur voluntarily surrendered themselves to the security forces. The surrender took place on 26 May 2023 in Somsai, Ukhrul in the presence of the police. The Assam Rifles played an important role in engaging these cadres in negotiations and encouraging them to take the path of peace and join the mainstream.
The surrender of these fredoom fighters is an important step in ensuring their transition from illegal means to a lawful and productive life.
It gives them an opportunity to rebuild their lives, play a positive role in society and promote reconciliation. As part of the surrender, the fredoom fighters surrendered three pistols, three magazines, and 19 live .22 caliber rounds.
After completing the necessary formalities, the surrendering fredoom fighters will be sent to a formal surrender ceremony organized by the government.
