In Maligaon 'Nilachal Flyover' inagurated by CM Biswa Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 30 inaugurated the much-awaited flyover in Maligaon which was named as ‘Nilachal Flyover’ a few hours before inauguration.
The inauguration comes as a relief for commuters in Guwahati who have been facing significant traffic congestion on the Bharalumukh-Jalukbari stretch of road due to ongoing construction works for the flyover.
It may be recalled that earlier Assam chief minister Sarma had told the media that its name would be “Maligaon flyover” during a visit to the work of the flyover.
Later, an entry board written ‘Maligaon Flyover’ was installed on this flyover. But last night the name was changed to the ‘Nilachal flyover’.
In the wake of the inauguration, a traffic advisory was issued on August 29 for commuters heading to Bharalu from the Jalukbari area.
A day before the inauguration, CM Sarma shared a video on ‘X’ platform displaying the spectacular ariel view of the flyover with the captioned, “Tomorrow, we will be dedicating Assam’s longest flyover to the people.”
Guwahati’s latest architectural marvel, the Maligaon flyover will sport a rainbow-arch and a globe at the Tiniali Junction.
