Shillong: A shocking incident has come to light from Mairang in Meghalaya’s East-West Khasi Hills district. A Class 12 student was allegedly brutally attacked by unknown miscreants while she was returning home from school.
The girl was allegedly stoned in the face by miscreants.
After that, the miscreants reportedly threatened her and held a knife to her neck.
The girl is currently undergoing treatment at Shillong Civil Hospital in Meghalaya.
The alleged incident took place on September 19 near Lawbyrtun village in Mairang in Meghalaya’s East-West Khasi Hills district.
Mairang is located at a distance of 40 km from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.
The victim is a student of Mawkyllei Higher Secondary School.
The girl was rescued by her classmates covered in blood and her face was severely injured.
The girl’s classmates found her sweater and blood-stained cloth lying on the road and tracked her down.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Police has started an investigation into the crime.
