Shillong: The Meghalaya Police arrested 5 people involved in the brawl incident in Laitumkhrah on Thursday July 7 midnight.
It may refer to a violent clash between two groups, causing widespread chaos and damage.
The altercation escalated to such an extent that the mob set fire to a police vehicle in the police station premises.
On Saturday July 8, the city police arrested two accused from another group and three accused from another group for their involvement in a scuffle near the DHS office, Laitumkhrah.
However, the police, who refused to reveal the names of the five accused, said only that the five were arrested for the assault incident following a drunken brawl before the arson case.
After the arrest, all five were produced in court and remanded to police custody for five days.
