
In Kwakta bomb blast case NIA arrested another accused
Imphal: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one more person in connection with the Kwakta bomb blast case in Manipur.
The man was arrested by a team of NIA with the help of Manipur Police.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohd Islahuddin Khan.
Khan was later produced in an Imphal court where he was sent to seven-day NIA custody.
Earlier, the NIA had arrested another person from Assam in connection with the Kokta blast case in Manipur.
The man was arrested from Silchar city in Cachar district of Assam.
The arrested person has been identified as Md Noor Hussain.
Hussain was arrested by the NIA with the help of the Assam Police on June 21 for his alleged involvement in the bomb blast in an SUV in Kwakta town of Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
The June 21 Kwakta bomb blast occurred during the height of communal violence between Manipur’s Kuki and Meitei communities.
In the bomb blast in Kokta, three people were injured and damage was reported from nearby houses.
