Tripura: At least 4 people were injured after an alleged fight between CPIM, Congress and BJP workers at Kumarghat under Tripura’s Unakoti district.
Speaking on the matter, a senior official told to Media on condition of anonymity that on February 17, a heated argument broke out between some people in Rakhaltali area under Unakoti district in which party color was thrown and Attempts were made to speed it up.
“However, we brought the situation under control but later around 9 am, BJP workers took out a rally and partially vandalized a Congress party. However, the situation was under control by night. Later this morning, some people Another incident took place in between and after that Congress and CPIM workers jointly blocked the road.
He further said that after the road block, suddenly the workers of both the parties started pelting stones at each other, but later the road block was removed.
“Taking advantage of the road blockade and stone pelting, some miscreants attacked a person and is undergoing treatment at GB Pant Hospital,” the official said.
In the incident, the police identified around 17 people, out of which 6 were arrested while 4 people including a policeman were injured.
“The situation is under control and we are investigating the matter”, the official told the publication.
