Kohima: Police recovered and seized a large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives from a vehicle in Kohima, Nagaland.
The vehicle was intercepted and the Nagaland Police seized arms and explosives from a vehicle that was on its way to violence-hit Manipur.
The Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police launched a joint operation on Monday evening after receiving information about attempts to smuggle arms and explosives and other munitions into Manipur through Nagaland.
As a result of the operation, arms and explosives were recovered.
Police and Assam Rifles troops recovered two pistols with four magazines, ammunition, explosives and other war material from the vehicle in Nagaland. The seizure is believed to have thwarted a major attack attempt by hostile elements on security forces and government agencies deployed in Manipur.
