In Kohima 2 NSCN (Khango) freedom fighters arrested

Nagaland: Dimapur police arrested two freedo fighters belonging to the NSCN-K (Khango) faction on May 25. The arrests were made in connection with a case filed by the Andhra Fish Supply Union of Dimapur, alleging incidents of intimidation, extortion and harassment against its members. Additionally, unknown miscreants had poured harmful chemicals into 34 cans of fish on May 3, causing considerable damage.
According to a release from Dimapur Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), a comprehensive investigation led to the identification of several suspects who were later placed under police custody. After careful investigation and intelligence gathering, the authorities took swift action.
Around 1 am on May 25, a team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (West) left for Kohima. With the help of electronic surveillance and human intelligence, they raided a residence in Newminster Hill, Kohima.
During the operation, two persons were arrested and identified as Apuloto Chishi (36), a self-proclaimed Lt. Colonel of NSCN-K (Khango) and commander of the group in Kohima town, and Kaisha Yepthomi (30). who are self-proclaimed second lieutenants. NSCN-K (Khango).
As a result of the raid, important evidence was recovered and seized. One 9mm Beretta pistol, 42 live rounds, Rs 10,000 in cash, 17 extortion booklets and other incriminating documents were seized. Additionally, the vehicle used in the crime, an Alto K10 LXI, was also recovered and seized by the authorities.
