Imphal: Manipur State Cooperative Bank’s Kongpokpi branch was looted by miscreants.
Manipur State Cooperative Bank’s Kangpokpi branch was robbed on July 11.
Notably, on July 11, Manipur State Cooperative Bank’s Kangpokpi branch resumed operations after being closed for more than two months.
Manipur State Cooperative Bank’s Kongpokpi branch remained closed from May 4 to July 11.
The miscreants looted computers, printers and CCTV cameras from the bank.
However, the miscreants could not steal any money from the bank as the vaults and ATMs installed at the branch were evacuated on May 4 following a tip from the bank’s head office.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the local police station in connection with the matter.
It may be noted that during the two-month-long ethnic conflict in the state, miscreants had looted a huge amount of cash and gold from the Churachandpur branch of Axis Bank in Manipur.
The miscreants had looted Rs 1.2 crore in cash and other items, including a few pieces of jewellery, from the Churachandpur branch of Axis Bank in Manipur.
According to bank staff, over Rs 1.2 crore in cash and a huge amount of gold jewellery were looted when the bank opened on July 10.
The lock of the front bank door was found intact.
The sales manager said a hole had been drilled in the rear of the bank’s concrete building, which was believed to be the robbers’ entry point.
