In Kangpokpi Kuki-Zo people holds mass prayer for discrete charge

Imphal: In a show of solidarity and determination, the people of Koki-Zo in Kangpokpi District gathered at Brig. M. Thomas grounds for a massive congregational prayer service, marking the completion of 90 days since the infamous Manipur disaster.
The prayer ceremony organized under the auspices of the Kangpokpi District Tribal Churches Leaders Fellowship was attended by prominent Kuki-Zo leaders, church leaders, intellectuals, leaders of civil society organizations, social workers and many members of the community.
The main focus of the prayer service was divine intervention and the achievement of their long-standing demand for a separate administration (SA) at the earliest.
The people of Kuki-Zo are advocating a separate administration to meet their unique cultural, political and developmental aspirations.
During the five-hour program, at least three prayer sessions were held, emphasizing various prayer points including divine protection, support from the central government, and a separate administration for the people of Kuki-Zo. Workable solutions were emphasized.
Reverend Dr. V. Sitlhou, Advisor of Kangpokpi District Tribal Churches Leaders Fellowship, expressed the community’s strong belief in the importance of prayer in this difficult time.
He urged churches around the world to join hands in prayer, to help the people of Kuki-Zo seek a separate administration.
The ceremony also served to commemorate the sacrifices made during the ongoing violence, as the names and photographs of Kuki-Zo’s martyrs were displayed to honor and pay tribute to their memory.
Kuki Inpi Manipur President Ch. Ajing Khongsai, Vice Chairman of CoTU, Lunthang Haokip, human rights activist Dr. S Chongloi, and President of the Kuki Women’s Organization for Human Rights, Hahat Touthang, were among the top leaders who addressed the gathering.
Their speeches echoed the determination and resolve of the community to achieve their legitimate aspirations through peaceful means.
Apart from prayers, the event witnessed crowd contributions in cash and kind, highlighting the collective commitment of the people of Kuki-Zo to their cause.
