The injured has been identified as one RK Abung (17), son of RK Amarjit from Moirang Konjengbam Leikai. He sustained bullet injuries on the calf of his left leg.

According to police, the incident reportedly occurred around 9.30 pm on Monday. Amarjit was allegedly abducted by unknown armed miscreants from Toupokpi area in Bishnupur district around 8 pm on the same day and brought to Wangoo Mamei Ching Waiting Shed, where he was shot at.

Upon hearing the information, a team of Thoubal Police station personnel led by its OC rushed and inspected the crime scene. Amarjit was immediately rushed to PHC Wangoo for first aid. He was later taken to Raj Medicity by his family for further treatment.
