Imphal: In a major operation, Manipur police, along with central forces, seized a large cache of weapons and explosives during a raid near Kabui Naga village in the state’s Bishnupur district.
The raid followed the detention of 250 people across the state over the past 24 hours for various violations, police officials said.
Security forces conducted search operations in vulnerable areas across Manipur’s hill and valley districts.
The recovered items included sophisticated firearms, grenades, mortar shells, detonators, walkie-talkies, mobile phones, ammunition, and military gear.
The weapons were found hidden in three bags in Maibam Lotpa Ching Mamang Leikai near Kabui Naga Village.
As part of the ongoing operation, authorities have set up 130 checkpoints across the state. Strict security measures are in place in sensitive areas, and security escorts are provided for vehicles traveling on major highways to ensure safe passage.
