
In Jowai Illegal stone mining continues, a vehicle captured
Despite a ban by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), illegal stone mining continues in Wah Myntdu, Treiongriang, Jowai.
On receiving the information, Khooid Ya Ka Wah Myntdu President KL Pariat and Jaiñtia Students’ Movement (JSM) President Jordan Rymbai immediately launched an investigation along with police officers from Jowai Police Station.
After investigation, the dumper was seen allegedly stealing rock in the middle of the night.
One of the truck drivers admitted that this activity was done on the instructions of F Hang who asked the workers to drop these stones at a junction in Lad Mustem.
The police seized the JCB and the truck and both the organizations also lodged an FIR at the Jowai police station for the alleged attempt.
