
In Jharkhand, CRPF personnel from Assam committed suicide
Guwahati: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) official, who hailed from the northeastern state of Assam, committed suicide on Monday (July 10).
The slain CRPF personnel has been identified as Pranjal Nath.
Nath hailed from Tezpur in Sonitpur district of Assam and was posted in Jharkhand.
Pranjal Nath took his life while on duty at CRPF’s 112th Battalion headquarters in Jharkhand’s Chianki.
According to reports, Nath shot himself with his service rifle.
The reason behind Nath’s suicide is yet to be known.
However, the investigation of the incident has been started by the authorities.
31-year-old Pranjal Nath joined duty on July 8 after spending two months’ leave in Assam.
His body has been sent to Medinrai Medical College and Hospital in Jharkhand for post-mortem.
Nath was also part of the anti-Maoist operation in Budha Pahad, which was recently liberated from the Maoists by the security forces.
