Itanagar: A huge fire broke out in the Chimpu area of Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh today, in which several houses were burnt.
A fire broke out at Nabam Shelley’s residence at 5.30 am this morning due to an electrical short circuit and spread to nearby houses. The situation worsened after a gas cylinder exploded in the nearby house of Gollo Alish Nabam, causing the fire to spread to nearby houses.
According to sources, eight to nine houses have been gutted due to the fire.
The homeowners blamed the fire brigade for late response to their calls.
After a while, the police came. By then other people of the house had also arrived. We called the fire brigade several times, others also called but there was no response.
Had they reached in time, the fire could have caused so much destruction,” said a resident.
Another resident also complained about the late arrival of the fire brigade at the scene.
“The police arrived first, but the fire brigade came towards the end. By then everything was over. Now there is nothing left. Now all our belongings, property and money have been burnt to ashes,” he said. ,” They said.
