Imphal west: Fresh reports of violence have been received from the Langol area of Imphal West on August 1.
According to sources, the incident took place when two columns of the army deployed at the scene were withdrawn.
Sources also claim that miscreants resorted to looting from the said area.
Earlier on July 31, a fire broke out around 9 pm at Canan Veng near Minuthong Commando Complex in Manipur’s Imphal East district.
At least 17 houses were gutted in the Canan Veng fire. Although the actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Fire tenders of Manipur Fire Service and police struggled to control the fire.
Some residents say that the fire may have started due to an electrical short circuit.
They said that a huge fire engulfed the houses in Canan Veng at around 9 pm and soon the fire spread to neighboring houses and other structures.
