Imphal: An active member of the banned Kunglipak Communist Party (KCP-Navin Group) was arrested from a hideout in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Saturday.
Police recovered three mobile handsets and Rs 1,310 in cash from him.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the Imphal West District Police launched a cordon and search operation at the north gate of the RAU ground.
They arrested the active freedom fighter of the underground outfit, identified as Hirom Pilot alias Lingamba (41) of Hanging Panthubi Ground.
Police said he was involved in extorting huge amounts of money from common people, especially in Imphal city, in the last few months.
He has been handed over to Imphal Police Station for further legal action.
