In Imphal IMFL bottles seized during police raids

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday reiterated his appeal to people not to consume hooch – adulterated country-made liquor that is harmful to health.

In his Twitter post, the Manipur Chief Minister said that according to expert committee reports, many people who consume adulterated liquor are causing health hazards and even death to the people of Manipur. Also happens,” CM N Biren Singh said in another tweet.
The CM further tweeted, “Police seized huge quantity of illegally distilled liquor (YU) from Imphal areas, CDO-IW teams at Lamphel Sana Keithel (Thangmeiband Khondram Selungba Leikai). A shop (*people store*) located there was raided and the shop taken into custody.Owner Name Salam Sancha @Deepak Singh (30 years) son of S Santosh Singh Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai, Imphal.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a shop in Imphal’s Limphel Sana Keithel and seized a huge quantity of Indian-made foreign liquor.
The owner of the shop has been identified as Salam Sancha alias Deepak Singh (30).

IMFL and beer exported from his shop include Gentleman’s Club (750 ml) – 6 bottles. Iconic White (375 ml) -9 bottles; McDowells (375 ml) – 14 bottles; Sterling Reserve B7 (180ml)-38 bottles; Opa (360 ml)-8 bottles; Blender’s Pride (750 ml)-6 bottles; Vintage (750 ml) – 2 bottles; Kasim beer (750 ml)-2 bottles; Corona Extra Beer (355 ml)-11 bottles; Kingfisher Beer (500 ml)-36 cans; Old Monk Beer (500 ml) – 12 bottles and Tuborg Beer (500 ml) – 12 bottles.

Police said that one arrested person has been handed over to the Excise Department Lamphelpat along with the seized items.
It may be mentioned here that in the last week of July 2017, 5 people died after consuming hooch in Manipur while 20 others were reported to be in critical condition.
