In East Khasi Hills a 16 years old rape victim dies by suicide
Imphal: A paramilitary manpower of 4th Assam Rifles Battalion allegedly committed suicide in Manipur’s Imphal East district on Monday morning.
Sandip H (34) was on sentry duty at the gate of Kala Camp around 4.45 am when he shot himself with his service rifle in the border state of Assam, but so far had little success.
His colleagues reached the spot and shifted him to a nearby medical center, where he was declared brought dead.
The motive behind the soldier taking such extreme step is not yet known.
Inquest proceedings have been initiated and the body is now at the morgue of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal for post-mortem.
