Manipur: Curfew hours in Imphal West and Imphal East districts, which were relaxed from 5 am to 8 pm, have been reduced in view of the law and order situation in the state.
According to the latest official notification issued by the concerned district administration on Tuesday, the curfew has been relaxed from 5 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, June 14, in both the districts.
Curfew has been relaxed to facilitate the common people to buy essential items including food and medicine, but gathering of people for any other purpose is prohibited, the decree said.
It further said that all persons connected with essential services like health, PHED, electricity, media personnel and working of courts will be exempted from further imposition of curfew after the said relaxation period ends.
Meanwhile, security adviser Kuldiep Singh said in a release that curfew has been relaxed for 15 hours in Imphal West, Imphal-East, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts. 12 hours in Kakching and Pherzawl districts and 08-10 hours in neighboring hill districts.
In view of the law and order situation in the state till further orders, an indefinite curfew has been imposed in both the districts along with other violence-hit districts of the state from 7 pm on May 3.
