In Imphal East, Imphal West curfew partially to be lifted for Sunday

Maanipur: Day curfew will continue to be relaxed in Imphal East and Imphal West on Sunday, except for a few designated areas, government sources said on Saturday.
The District Magistrates of both Imphal East and Imphal West on Saturday ordered the relaxation of curfew from 5 am to 5 pm on June 18 in both the districts, citing substantial improvement in law and order situation in the state. have been released.
However, as per the orders of the Imphal West District Magistrate, there is no relaxation of curfew in areas including Shija Hospital Road in the north. Imphal-Kangchup road from Iroishemba Junction south to Naoremthong Samusang Uku; Manipur CEO office from MI Department to Home Guard office in the east and Langol Hill range in the west.
According to the order of the Imphal East District Magistrate, the relaxation of curfew does not come from Hatta crossing to RDS crossing in the east. the Imphal River in the west from Sanjanthong to Minuthong; Hatta Crossing from Minuthong in the north; and RDS Crossing in the south to Sangenthong.
However, all persons related to essential services like health, PHED, electricity, media personnel and functioning of courts will be exempted from further imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said relaxation period.
A curfew was imposed under Section 144 of the CrPC in the violence-hit districts of Manipur. The state has been in turmoil since a series of violence erupted on May 3.
