Imphal: Manipur Police and Assam Rifles in a joint operation arrested a freedom-fighter belonging to banned revolutionary outfit Kangleipak Communist Party KCP (Military Council Unification) from Pheidinga in Imphal West district, police said on Friday.
A pistol with a magazine full of six live rounds, marked Italy, was recovered from the revolutionist arrested on Thursday, a police official said.
The arrested active KCP (MCU) freedom-fighter has been identified as Tongminthang Haokip alias Thangboi alias Chingsang, 32.
Police said he joined the outfit in November 2019 through a KCP (MC Unification) wing and till date has been working under the banned group’s wing and a Tachou.
He completed 45 days of basic military training at Sajik Tampak along the Manipur-Myanmar border.
It has been handed over to Sekmai PS for further legal action along with the seized items.
