Manipur: On June 21, unprovoked firing continued from Manipur’s Urangpat, with an IED blast reported on a bridge near Ward No. 9 south of Kwatka.
Around 7.15 pm, an IED exploded in a vehicle, probably a Mahindra Scorpio, on a bridge near Ward No. 9, south of Kwakta. In Kwatka, Bishnupur district, two people were killed and four injured, though official confirmation of the death toll is still awaited.
According to sources, a Scorpio was parked on top of a bridge, and a few passers-by saw the driver getting out of the vehicle.
However, at around 5.45 pm automatic small arms fire was heard near Urangpat north of YKPI in Imphal East. According to sources, the situation has been brought under control.
According to a source, the Meira Paibis continue to block the Sawonbung-YKPI road axis at several places across Imphal West.
According to sources, around 5 pm on June 21, firing was carried out towards N Boljang village, south of Kanchup in Imphal West, when troops of Assam Rifles retaliated and brought the situation under control.

After just one-and-a-half hours of gunfire in Tangnom, the miscreants attacked another Kuki village, Mongneljang, in Saikul Sub-division, Kongpokpi District, around 7:30 p.m.
