In Guwahati one man held for raping minor near Kamakhya temple

Guwahati: A man, identified as a photographer, was arrested by the police for allegedly molesting a minor girl at the Kamakhya temple in Assam’s Guwahati.

According to reports, the accused raped a nine-year-old girl near the VIP car parking outside the Kamakhya temple on Friday night.
He is identified as Nayan Haloi.
The accused allegedly “raped” the minor girl in front of her mother.

The victim is said to be destitute and was staying with her mother near the Kamakhya temple for the past few months.
They lived under a footbridge in the area.
After the incident, an FIR was filed on behalf of the victim’s mother.

Based on the incident, the police arrested the accused and took him into custody for questioning.

An investigation has been started in connection with the matter.
