In Golaghat massive fire broke out at Numaligarh refinery

Guwahati: A massive fire broke out at the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Assam’s Golaghat district on Monday, followed by a massive explosion that rocked the hydrocracker project.

The cause of the fire is not known and authorities are currently working to control the fire.
The fire at the Numaligarh refinery sent shock waves across the region, with the sound of the explosion being heard up to seven kilometers away.

Shocked employees came out of the gate of the refinery as smoke billowed from the place.
Several fire tenders were immediately dispatched to douse the fire while efforts are on to bring the situation under control.

Efforts to control the fire are underway.
