In Geneva Meitei diaspora held a stage in protest at united nations

Imhal: The Meitei diaspora in Europe on Wednesday staged a dharna at the UN manifest ground adjacent to the famous broken chair in Geneva, Switzerland to highlight the ongoing unrest in Manipur.
The demonstration was organized by the Vice President of the powerful social organization International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) and spokesperson of the Coordinating Committee of Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), an umbrella organization of several civil bodies in Manipur. campaign at the United Nations in Geneva.
The event was attended by several Meitei Diaspora representatives from various parts of Europe, UK and Ireland.
Prominent speakers and delegates from the Meitei diaspora across Europe addressed the pressing issues of Manipur’s current violence and the worrisome concern of Chin-Kuki narco-terrorism, which has apparently made the southern parts of Manipur the epicenter of the infamous Golden Triangle. Following the ceremony, a seven-member delegation from the Meitei Diaspora in Europe, led by Khuraijam Athouba, visited the United Nations campus. Notably, the 54th session of the Human Rights Council was ongoing in Geneva.
The delegation distributed information pamphlets and brochures highlighting the ongoing violence in Manipur, ‘Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorism’, and the emerging Golden Triangle within the campus.
