In East Khasi Hills section 144 CrPC imposed

Shillong: The East Khasi Hills District Magistrate has imposed Section 144 in and around Secretariat Hill till further orders.

The East Khasi Hills District Magistrate on August 30 issued an order imposing Section 144 CrPC in and around Secretariat Hill in view of law and order problems following reports that some Groups will hold demonstrations across the district and there may be some chaos.
The order prohibits people from holding demonstrations or rallies within a 200-meter radius of Raj Bhavan and the Meghalaya Secretariat building.

This decision was taken in view of the proposed protests by several organizations.
