A jawan of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) committed suicide on the night of February 28 in Doom Dooma town of Tinsukia district in Assam.
The youth, identified as Ashok Kumar from Haryana, was posted at the Aviation Research Center (ARC) in Doom Dooma town and shot himself with his rifle.
The real reason behind taking this step is yet to be known.
Meanwhile, the body of the youth has been brought to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
In another suicide-related incident, on February 19, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan from Assam shot himself in Chhattisgarh.
The incident took place at the headquarters of the 195th Battalion in Dantewada district.
According to reports, the youth died of bullet injuries at a hospital in Raipur.
Reports also claimed that Constable Gunin das, a member of the 195th Battalion of the CRPF, killed himself with an improvised weapon in his barracks in the unit.
When his co-workers responded to the shooting, they found him critically injured.
