Guwahati: Lieutenant General HS Sahi on Monday assumed command of the Dimapur-based 3 Corps of the Indian Army.
Lt Gen Sahi was commissioned in the Rajput Regiment in 1988. He is an alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun Defense Services Staff College Wellington, Army War College, Mihow and National Defense College, New Delhi, a statement issued by a Defense PRO said.
Lt Gen Sahi was commissioned in 23 Rajput in December 1988.
An alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, the general officer has attended the Staff Course at DSSC Wellington, the Higher Command Course at Army War College Mihow and the National Defense College Course at Delhi.
In his last assignment at Army Headquarters, the General Officer was handling the operational affairs of the Indian Army.
He has the distinction of being the General Officer Commanding of the Counter Insurgency Force (CLF) in North Kashmir and during his tenure, the formation excelled in both the mobile and non-mobile sectors.
In an illustrious career spanning 34 years, the General Officer served in command and staff tenures in various operational environments in India and abroad.
He is a recipient of the Ati Vashisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Sena Medal, and Chief of Army Staff and General Officer Commanding in Chief Commendations in recognition of his professional contribution during both command and staff assignments.
