In Dhemaji bamboo bridge slumps as over 20 school students hurt

Guwahati: More than 20 school-going students were injured after a bamboo bridge collapsed over a river in Assam’s Dhemaji district.

The incident was reported from Chahbari area of ​​Dhemaji district of Assam on Thursday (October 26) morning.
The bamboo bridge collapsed when students were trying to cross it, on their way to school.

Hearing the screams of the students, local people rushed to the spot and rescued them.
At least five of the injured students are said to be in critical condition.

The injured students are undergoing treatment at Dhemaji Civil Hospital in Assam.
