In Delhi, Tripura to open pineapple auction centre

Agartala: The Tripura government is planning to open a pineapple auction center in New Delhi.

This information was given by Tripura Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
The Tripura minister said there are plans to open a pineapple auction center in New Delhi.

He said that this decision has been taken following the increasing demand of Tripura-grown pineapples in the international markets.
Ratan Lal Nath said, “Pineapples from Tripura are in high demand in Middle Eastern countries and Europe.

It may be noted that the Tripura government has taken several steps in the last few years to promote pineapple production in the state and its sales in India and abroad.
Notably, the National Horticulture Board (NHB) has initiated several initiatives to make Tripura’s Sepahijala district a major center for year-round production of the Queen variety of pineapple.

Tons of Queen Pineapple, officially declared the official fruit of Tripura, are exported to Dubai, Doha and other parts of the world every year.
