New Delhi: A group of Kuki-Zo protesters from Manipur who had called for a protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on June 24, were prevented from boarding buses heading to the protest venue in Munirka.

Also, a bus full of protesters from Kishangarh was taken to a police station in Delhi.
A protest call was given at Jantar Mantar in Delhi at 11 am today where people from all walks of life including civil society representatives were to gather at the venue and protest on the Manipur issue.

A total of 42 people representing various organizations and civil societies were part of the protest that was scheduled to take place at Jantar Mantar today.
The emerging state of Manipur since May 3, 2023, is facing a controversial and violent situation amid ethnic violence hitting the northeastern state.

So far, at least 73 people have been confirmed dead in this disaster, many properties have been destroyed and thousands have been left homeless.
Meanwhile, an all-party meeting will be held in Delhi on June 24 at 3 pm under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the current situation in Manipur.

The Union Minister is likely to apprise the opposition leaders and allies about the current situation and the steps that have been taken and should be taken.
Last month, Shah visited Manipur for four days and met people as part of efforts to restore peace. He met the victims of both Meitei and Kuki communities at the relief camps and assured them of adequate security.
