Imphal: Sources said that on June 27, some unidentified miscreants torched a church of East Manipur Presbyterian (EMP) and looted the property.
According to sources, a house of Kuki Zo in Lamlongei, Heingang was also burnt.
“Tonight (June 27, 2023) at around 11 pm, some unknown miscreants burnt down an EMP (East Manipur Presbyterian) Church, and a Kuki-zo house located at Lamlongei, Heingang (CM Biren Assembly Constituency). After all the properties were vandalized and looted,” the source added.
Two days ago, miscreants set fire to a shop in Chingmairong, hours after Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh discussed the current situation in the state with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
As soon as the information was received, both the police and fire tenders reached the spot and brought the fire under control by 2 am.
Meanwhile, there is no report of any casualty or crowd increase. The security forces deployed in the state have been able to bring the law and order situation under control.
