Churachandpur: The house of KNO spokesperson Dr Seilen Haokip in Songpi, Churachandpur was targeted and burnt by unknown miscreants on July 3.
Seilen Haokip was one of those who supported the removal of the blockade of NH 2 in Kongpokpi.
The situation in Manipur took a turn for the worse on July 3 when incidents of firing were reported in the Kangpokpi area under the Thingsat mountain range.
Sources revealed that in the early hours of the day, there was also an exchange of fire in Phaileng village. According to the latest reports, the firing continues in these areas, which is further increasing the atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.
On 2 July, Chief Minister N Biren Singh arrived in the violence-hit areas of Bishnupur district following reports of clashes and arson in Khoijumantabi village.
Clashes resulted in loss of life, with three people reportedly killed. The situation in the suburbs of Bishnupur district has been tense since the violence started, which initially took place on the midnight of July 2.
