Manipur: An active freedom-fighter of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) group was arrested on March 31 by the Churachandpur Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) under Spear Corps.
The active freedom-fighter, identified as a self-proclaimed PLA captain, Soibam Ibomcha, was handed over to the Churachandpur police for further investigation after he was captured by Assam Rifles troops. The fighter was arrested during the search operation.
In another operation, the Phandari Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) under Spear Corps arrested an active revolutionist of the KYKL fighter at Waikong in Kakching district of Manipur on March 31.
Acting on specific information about the presence of Kanglei Yawol Kunna Lup (KYKL) freedom fighters involved in illegal activities, the Assam Rifles troops carried out a joint operation with the CDO representative which led to the arrest of two men in Waikong. The arrested person has been handed over to Hiyanglam police station for further investigation and necessary legal action.
