Guwahati: In a major development, the three Superintendents of Police (SPs) in charge of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s security have been transferred.
Utpal Bayan, who was serving as SP (Security-1) to the Chief Minister, has been transferred and posted as SP of Special Branch (Security).
He will replace Mantu Thakuria, who has been transferred as SP (Security-1) to the Chief Minister of Assam.
On the other hand, Assistant Inspector General Jayantha Sarathi Borah has been transferred and posted as the new SP (Security-III) to the Chief Minister of Assam.
He will replace Suman Chakraborty, who is being transferred to the post of First Borah.
Meanwhile, Ganendra Deka, who was SP (Security-II) to the Chief Minister of Assam, is being transferred and posted as Commandant of 11th APBN at Dergaon.
He will be replaced by Tabu Ram Pegu, who is being transferred from the post of Commandant, 11 APBN, Dergaon.
