
In Champhai district Heroin worth 16.73 lakh seized
Aizawl: Acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles personnel recovered 23.9 grams of heroin worth Rs 20 crore. 16.73 lakh in Zote village of Champhai district, near the Myanmar border, on Monday, the Assam Rifles said in a press release.
The operation was carried out with the support of the State Excise and Narcotics Department.
No one has been arrested in connection with the seizure.
The recovered heroin, which was concealed in two cases of soap, was handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department on the same day, the statement said.
The Assam Rifles has been at the forefront of the fight against the menace of narcotics and continues to wage a relentless war against narcotics.
