In Cachar record Heroin worth of 210 crore seized by state forces

Guwahati: Assam on Thursday witnessed its biggest haul of drugs ever. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the seizure of heroin worth Rs 210 crore in Cachar district of the state.
A person has been arrested for drug possession.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma called the operation a major step towards a “drug-free Assam”.
A total of 21 kg of heroin was seized in an operation in Silchar through joint efforts between STF of Assam Police and Cachar District Police.

Appreciating the Assam Police, CM Sarma noted that investigations are underway to bust the drug supply network.
