Assam:  In the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam, a new militant organization known as the Boro Liberation Army has emerged.
In a press release earlier sent to the Government of Assam and the Government of India, the new militant outfit mentioned that a new armed outfit has emerged in BTR with the demand for a separate state of ‘Boroland’. According to the press note, the core members of the organization are B Dwidengra (President), B Rwngwra (Vice President), B Ankhlai (Army Chief) and B Bwkhangsa (General Secretary).
Peace returned to Bodoland on 27 January 2020 as the third BTR peace agreement was signed.
But two and a half years after the BTR agreement, there were reports of the birth of a new armed organization once again. The news of the birth of the new organization in the month of February under the leadership of the organization’s president B. Dwidengra was sent through an emergency number in several WhatsApp groups.
According to a press statement issued by the organization armed with an emergency number, the organization was born with a basic demand for a separate Bodoland.
