
In Boko town in Assam 16 bogies of Goods train derailed
GUWAHATI: A goods train derailed at Boko in Assam’s Kamrup district on Wednesday, after about 16 coaches derailed from the train moving along the Kamakhya-Jogighopa railway track.
The incident took place at Singra railway station in Boko.
Reports indicate that several coaches of the train derailed, out of which around 15 to 16 coaches were completely detached and detached. The train was carrying coal at the time of the accident.
After the incident, the train continued to move forward for about 200 meters, leaving only 6 to 7 coaches behind which remained attached.
The total number of coaches in the train was 60. Thankfully, no one has been reported injured as a result of the incident.
The incident comes just days after Assam’s Kokrajhar averted a potentially catastrophic incident similar to the recent incident in Odisha.
On June 3, a train engine and two other bogies separated from the remaining eight bogies and traveled about 600 meters.
In the incident near Kokrajhar railway station, the engine was seen separating from the bogies. Fortunately, a major accident was averted due to the high speed of the train and the absence of passengers.
