Bhopal: A man has been charged with raping a woman from Nagaland in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Bhopal’s Koh-e-fiza police also alleged that the rapist forced the girl from Nagaland to convert to another religion.
The victim, aged around 30, met the accused Krishanpal (26) in Nagaland in 2021, House Officer Vijay Singh Sisodia of Koh-e-fiza Police Station said.
The two fall in love after which Krishnapal proposes marriage to her.
Later he enticed her to go with him to Bhopal.
Both started living in a rented house in Lalghati.
Krishanpal allegedly physically abused her several times during their live-in relationship.
According to reports, whenever the woman objected to physical intimacy, the accused would promise to marry her soon.
Notably, reports further state that during this period, Krishnapal also ordered jewelry and ornaments from her and signed many documents from her.
Later he cheated her by saying that the MP government provides Rs 2 lakh to married couples in case of inter-personal marriages.
The woman, who belonged to another religion, believed in him.
Soon, Krishnapal began pressuring her to convert, after which they had frequent quarrels.
On May 24, the woman finally approached the police and filed a complaint against Krishnapal for raping her and forcing her to convert.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested him and produced him in the court.
