Imphal: A joint team of Manipur Police and Central Security Forces destroyed 33 bunkers in Kongpokpi and Bishnupur districts in the last 24 hours following a massive search operation by the team.
The situation has been tense in the last 24 hours with firing at a few places and uncontrolled mob gatherings. However, the situation is normal in most districts, the police control room said in a release.
Police added that during the last 24 hours, the state police and central forces conducted a massive search operation in the vulnerable and fringe areas of the hilltop of the Langza area near Khoijumantabi, East and West Chingalangmei range in Churachandpur district. ; Ukha Tampak, Phuaisanphai, Moirang Turel Mapal Ward No. 9 and Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai in Bishnupur District; Sokom Village, Nazareth Village, Kephom Village, Sahumphai Village, Khunbi Bazar Areas in Kakching Districts.
Police added that in the last 24 hours, a joint team of Manipur Police and Central Security Forces destroyed a total of 33 bunkers in Kongpokpi and Bishnupur districts.
The police also said that around 126 checkpoints/checkpoints were set up in various districts of Manipur, both hill and valley, and the police detained 351 people in connection with violations in various districts of the state.
