In Baksa over 200 Congress workers join Trinamool Congress

Guwahati: In a significant change, more than 200 Congress workers from the Salbari block Congress have taken a decisive step by joining the Trinamool Congress.
The change came during an induction meeting held in Saudarvitha, Baksa, where Trinamool Congress candidate for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency Gauri Shankar Sarania presided over the function.
At the gathering, Gauri Shankar Sarania expressed confidence in the prospects of the Trinamool Congress in the upcoming elections, claiming a resounding 100 percent victory in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat.
He expressed his hope of getting around 550,000 votes.

Following the event, Sarania pledged to address the concerns and issues faced by the people once elected as the representative of the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency. Moreover, he took a firm stance against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, levying strong criticisms against his administration.

In a statement, Gauri Shankar Sarania remarked, “With all due respect to Mamata Banerjee didi and TMC leader Ripun Bora, our Salbari Congress bloc is drawing inspiration from them. Today, our main focus is the transition of our bloc to Assam TMC. We’ll be replacing the Congress banner at our office with the Trinamool Congress banner. Approximately 200 members will be joining us today.”

The shift in allegiance marks a significant development in the political dynamics of Baksa, signaling potential implications for the upcoming elections.
