Nagaon: A 42-year-old man was trampled by a wild elephant in Assam’s Nagaon district, a senior official said on Wednesday.
He said that his minor son was seriously injured in the attack.
According to a senior district administration official, the incident took place on Tuesday in Rekapahar Reserve Forest area of Kaliabar sub-division of the district when the father and son were returning home on a bicycle.
“They were suddenly attacked by a wild elephant, which came out of the nearby forest,” the official said.
After receiving information, forest and police officials reached the spot, and took him to Nagaon Civil Hospital, where doctors declared the 42-year-old man brought dead, he said.
The minor son is undergoing treatment at a local hospital, the official added.
