Kokrajhar: A major fire broke out in Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Sunday morning, gutting several shops, police said.
The police said that the fire broke out at Hauriapet area of Gossaigaon around 4 am.
He added that around 12-15 shops were gutted, but no one was injured in the fire.
The police said that before the fire was brought under control, there was a loss of Rs 1 crore.
A police officer said that the fire appears to have started due to an electrical short circuit, but we can find out the exact cause only after a thorough investigation.
