Shillong: A Khasi Students Union (KSU) delegation comprising Donald V. Thabah (General Secretary, KSU CEC), Iashan Borlang Mukhim (Assistant Organizing Secretary, KSU CEC) and Badonkupar Nongbari (Assistant Organizing Secretary, KSU CEC) visited the missing youth. attended Festival at Gogamukh, Dhemaji in Assam on February 5.
The festival was organized to commemorate the golden jubilee of TMPK and to bring the missing youth together on one platform.
An estimated 90,000 people from the Mising community from Dhemaji, Jonai, Pasighat, Sivasagar and Dibrugarh participated in the event.
During the festival, Khasi Students Union supported the Mising community in their movement to include the lost homeland and all its territories under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Currently, the Mising Community is administered by the Autonomous Council on the Mising under the State Act.
The fair saw the presence of eminent personalities such as Sonam Wangchuk, a reformer, educationist and innovator of land architecture; Ranoj Pegu, Minister-in-charge of Education, Assam. Prasanta Rajguru, Editor-in-Chief Prague News; Aditya Khakhlari, General Secretary of All Assam Tribal Sangha. Adviser of All Manipur Students Union, Twipra Students Federation, Garo Students Union, All Dimasa Students Union, Karbi Students Association and North East Students Organization (NESO) Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharya.
