Guwahati: The number of voters in Assam has increased by over four lakh in the last one year, taking the total number of voters to 2,41,11,743, an official statement said on Friday.
Of these, 1,21,28,543 are male, 1,19,82,804 are female and 396 belong to the third gender, said a release issued by the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
The final electoral list for 126 assembly constituencies of Assam has been published. The total number of voters on the roll as on January 1, 2023 is 241,11,743,” CEO Nitin Khade said in the release.
The total number of voters aged 18 to 19 was 4,01,571.
About 3,11,032 voters are above 80 years of age.
The number of voters classified as Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is 1,69,573, of which 86,105 are male, 83,458 are female and 10 belong to the third gender.
The integrated draft electoral roll for the state was published on November 9 last year, which included the names of 2,38,81,196 voters.
After that, the filing of claims and objections began, which continued till December 8.
